I bite the inside of my cheek out of habit and can't seem to stop

Cheek biting is a body-focused repetitive behaviour (BFRB) that provides a form of oral stimulation related to stress regulation. The inside of the cheek contains proprioceptive nerve endings that, when pressed or bitten, provide a feedback loop similar to other stimming behaviours. Most cheek biters are unaware they're doing it until the soreness arrives.
