I have 30+ browser tabs open right now that I definitely will not read

Tab hoarding is a physical manifestation of decision anxiety. Each open tab represents a deferred decision — I might need this later. Closing tabs triggers a small sense of loss, even for content you have no intention of reading. The tabs function as an anxiety buffer.
